Sustaining the Canadian Bloodline

June 28, 2020

More and more, we will encounter change. Our life time will be filled with growth, and as we understand better and we adapt to new ways, opportunities will continue to arise with the ability to improve on the decisions made in the past.

Progress. We innovate and shape the world for the better of our future. We want to ensure that our children receive the opportunities they need to become strong and productive adults that will contribute to society in return. I will say that again. To ensure that parents won’t need to worry for their children’s best interest.

At this current time, our approach at keeping the Canadian bloodline alive is being reevaluated to adopt a behaviour-based policy and remove the exclusion of men who has sex with men as well as transgender individuals from donating blood. I stand to celebrate how far we have come, and the people that make change possible. I am ready for this next big step forward and I support exemplary models of transition.

If unsuccessful, know that I will bow my head down with you and recognize the distance still ahead of us. Progress takes time but I will say this, something that I’ve heard my parents say on many occasions.

On continue. On lâche pas. On avance, c’est comme sa. We continue. We don’t stop. We move forward, that is how it’s done. We go further together.
